FAQ
Our juices
Cold-pressed juice is a great way to get a big dose of healthy, organic fruits and vegetables. Each bottle packs a punch of 2 to 4 pounds of produce! Incorporating cold-pressed juice into your diet and lifestyle can have wonderful health benefits. “Cold-pressed” means that the juice is extracted from the produce using hydraulic pressure which gently presses the fruits and vegetables. Because the juice is extracted slowly, there is very little heat and oxidation created by the process – these are two factors that would quickly kill off nutrients. The coldpressing process keeps the maximum amount of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and enzymes intact.
There’s a huge difference between cold-pressed juice and the juice you buy at the grocery store, even the stuff that says “100% juice” on the carton. Grocery store juice is processed using a high-speed centrifugal juicers: a rough extraction method that immediately damages a lot of the minerals, phytonutrients, and vitamins. Next, this juice is generally HPP pasteurized – which means essentially “cooked” – to remove impurities (as well as many of the remaining nutrients). This process ensures the juice can endure a long shelf life.
We don't do any of that, you'll just find pure, fresh produce in every bottle!
Yep! There are actually two types of fibre: soluble and insoluble. Juicing only removes the insoluble fibre from produce, while keeping the soluble fibre intact.Insoluble fibre, which is most often found in the bran layer of cereal grains, doesn't rapidly change consistency as it moves throughout the digestive system. Soluble fibre, on the other hand, transforms to a gel type substrate. As soluble fibre moves through the body it absorbs toxins and impurities, helping the gastrointestinal tract to function without irritation. Soluble fibre is most commonly found in fruits and vegetables, as well as legumes and oats. While we need both types of fibre, temporary reduction of your insoluble fibre can allow the body to more easily absorb nutrients and enzymes as well!
We get as much of our produce as we possibly can from local farmers. Of course this is easiest and most abundant during the spring, summer, and autumn months. We take pride in trying to have produce picked and juiced in the same day as often as possible. We work directly with farmers who grow 100% organic produce and whose farming practices celebrate their region's natural ecology. It’s important to us that the produce we juice is as high-quality and as fresh as possible. Although, we don't mind a bruise here or there, reducing waste it important to us too!
Don't panic, this is totally normal! Our juice separates because we don’t use any additives or preservatives in our blends which would prevent natural separation. Just be sure to give your juice a good, hearty shake before drinking it!
Juices purchased directly from us are best before 10 days, many blends last longer but we recommend consuming your juice before the date on the bottle. If you aren’t drinking your juice right after purchasing it, make sure you store it in the fridge. Once you’ve cracked the bottle we suggest drinking it within 24 hours.
Our retailer partners sell a 'light filtered' version of our raw juice that is dated best before 14 days. However, we still suggest you consume your juice within 24 hours of cracking the bottle!
We recommend drinking your juice or nut mylk fresh, but if you can't consume your juice within the best before date, you are able to freeze it and consume at a later moment. Please be aware that the liquid will expand while freezing. We recommend pouring your juice or nut mylk in a different (freezer-safe) container. In case you don't have another container, make sure to pour a little bit of the liquid out in order to create space for expansion.
Sure. If a low-calorie, low-sugar option is what you’re seeking, we recommend the [ boss ] or the [ stalk ]. If you're looking for a very low sugar cleanse let us know and we can work that out for you!
In terms of juice these terms mean that very little heat is produced during or after the juicing process.
Pasteurization is the process of heating a food or drink product to a high temperature for a short time, then immediately cooling it down. This kills off any harmful bacteria, impurities, or microbial growth that eventually can cause the product to go bad. This means that a product can endure a long shelf life with a low risk of contamination. However, along with all the bad things that are eliminated, pasteurization can also remove a lot of the good, healthy components that we want to consume – such as enzymes, minerals, electrolytes, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. A raw and unpasteurized juice means that it’s literally alive and thriving with all those healthy life forms.
Keep in mind that certain unpasteurized items aren’t recommended for some pregnant women, so it’s a good idea to check in with your doctor if you’re expecting and ask if raw and unpasteurized juice is safe for you.
You might notice our retail partners have 'light filtered' statement added to their labels. A 5-log reduction is required by the FDA in order to sell juice to a third party.
So, what does 'light filtered' mean? Instead of subjecting our blends to high heat pasteurization we chose UV light to filter our beverages. This process takes a matter of seconds and maintains the integral nutrition of the juice, which is incredibly important to us!
We bottle our juice in glass for three reasons. One, it simply tastes better and we think it feels better in your hand.
Secondly, studies have shown that the chemicals used in plastic bottles can break down and seep into the liquid they are carrying if exposed to heat or sunlight. Sure, these might be small trace amounts, but we want our juice to be as pure as possible – including the container your juice comes in.
The third and most important reason we bottle our juice in glass is because we care deeply about the environment, and we want our footprint to be as small as possible. It's not a secret that single-use plastic is terrible for our planet, so we want to do our part to minimize what ends up in the landfill and in our wild waters.
Return them and receive $2 back per bottle. We love getting them back. We’ll sterilize them and refill them with new juice.
This is one small way that we can do on our part to minimize our impact on the planet. You can return bottles to any retailers that sell our juice. We don't usually suggest bringing back more than 6 at a time because it can be a little overwhelming for retailers. If you have a lot of empty bottles laying around just reach out and we will organize a pick up. hello@stokejuice.com

If your question wasn't answered, please contact us at: hello@stokejuice.com
Depending on your cleansing experience and everyday diet, we have a couple cleanse options for you to choose from! The largest difference between our level 1 and level 2 cleanse is that you will find more of our vegetable dense juices in the level 2 cleanse.
Do you have any cleanse experience? If you're a newbie we generally suggest starting with a level 1 cleanse. However, if you eat a vegetable rich, ' clean' diet on a regular basis and are looking for a lower sugar option you could opt for a level 2 cleanse.
How many days should you cleanse for? We offer 1-day and 3-day packages for both of our levels of cleansing. Again, if you are just starting out and have never cleansed before you may want to start with a 1-day cleanse. This is completely dependant on your comfort level. Many people jump right into a 3-day cleanse as well. We see the best results with our 3-day cleanse packages as this package allows your body to have a more in-depth detox. If you'd like to cleanse for longer than 5 days just reach out and we would be happy to make you a custom package.
Our favourite reason to cleanse is to kick start a healthier lifestyle. You'll me amazed how satiated you feel while cleansing and realize how much you don't long for those unhealthy snacks throughout the day.
Another core reason to cleanse is because everyday we are all accumulating toxins, even those of us with the cleanest diets and healthiest lifestyles! Air pollution, cleaning supplies, and processed foods are just some of the things that contribute to the toxins that build up in our systems over time. This could eventually lead to health problems or chronic illness. Your liver and digestive system are constantly working hard to eliminate toxins, cleansing offers them a well-deserved break.
Cold-pressed juicing is an ideal way to cleanse because the nutrients from the juice are easily absorbed. This allows your body to spend its energy healing and rejuvenating. Remember, a juice cleanse isn't about deprivation, it’s about a full feast of nourishment. It can be an awesome way to hit the reset button and realign ourselves on our path of supporting our healthiest self.
You can definitely cleanse if you have a busy lifestyle! Just try not to overdue it for the duration of your cleanse. Instead of hard cardio workouts try a long walk or some yoga. It's important to be gentle to your body while it's detoxing!

Ordering, Delivery & pickup
When we started Stoke one of our goals was to limit our footprint as much as possible. Using 'ugly' fruits and vegetables became a priority as well as searching out farmers to take our pulp for animal feed. But, that still wasn't enough, we wanted our packaging to be as sustainable as possible. So we chose glass, not just any glass, our bottles are a thick hearty glass so they last the test of time. That's simply why you can get one of our fully refundable bottles filled with juicy goodness and return the bottle for a full refund when you're done with it!
For delivery on Tuesday our online orders close on Sunday's at midnight. Orders will then be produced on Monday's and delivered on Tuesday's. For delivery on Friday our online orders close on Wednesday's at midnight. Orders will then be produced on Thursday's and delivered on Friday's.
